Ok everyone you wanted a tutorial here you go.
This if for instructional purposes only, I'm not responsible if you break your phone.
Step 1. Get the patched 2.1 Rom here --> http://www.sendspace.com/file/frqze0
Step 2. Place PB00IMG.zip onto your phones SD card
Step 3. make sure phone is off and hold Power button and Call Button.
Step 4. the menu opens quickly press the power key over the hboot option.
Step 5. Follow the instructions onscreen to install the update. the phone will reboot a few times.
Enjoy!
Notes:
The phone will wipe all user data the sd card is untouched, i made a backup for safety purposes.

I already flashed my Eris with this IMG. Works great, very fast.. no bugs so far.. Google Navigation, new Sense, No live wallpapers..

How is the Sense UI...if you tried it...is it updated?

It's updated.. has that little multitouch thing that brings up all the screens and all that jazz.. not that much improvement UI-wise..
The only decent significant changes are the Market and Google Voice navigation..

And I had other plans... At least it's a faster process than BlackBerry updates.

yea..thats all i ever used.
BUT now we may in fact be able to use some root apps. Im in the process of checking somethings out...
we may all be in for some tasty treats come this weekend LOL
