This file is the 2.1 ESE53 sbf file but I have replaced the boot image with the MDW boot image and my custom kernel overclocked to 1.1 ghz.
The ESE53 has all the bells and whistles, live wallpapers, gmaps 4.0 etc you name it, it has it.

Download SBF

Please Login HERE or Register HERE to see this link!

Download nandroid backup file

Please Login HERE or Register HERE to see this link!

Please follow the directions.

Before beginning ensure you have the following files. (

Please Login HERE or Register HERE to see this link!

)
1) flash_image in your c:/android/tools directory (or where ever yours is located).
2) su in your c:/android/tools directory (or where ever yours is located).
2) sprecovery 0.99.3b in your sdcard root directory.

Now using the Motorola RSDlite program install this rom

Please Login HERE or Register HERE to see this link!

Now follow these directions to install the custom recovery.

A) once os is installed you will need to connect it to a computer and go into the command prompt
B) next, go to your android/tools folder
C) next in the command prompt type adb push flash_image /data/local
D) next type adb push su /data/local
E) next type adb shell
F) next type su
G) next type mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
H) next then type: cd /system/bin
I) next type: cat /data/local/flash_image > flash_image
J) next type cat /data/local/su > su
K) next type chmod 6777 flash_image
L) next type chmod 6777 su
M) next type flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
N) next type mount -o remount,r -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
O) next type reboot

that is it..reboot and you now have the custom recovery and an overclocked 2.1 ROM

I hope you enjoy this !!!

If you want to see this in action our member Haxzamtic put together a youtube video for you viewing pleaseure.....

Phone Failed initial security check HAB

:/

Is that normal?

Mike

I dowloaded the new file and got the same error but the phone started without issue. I'm guessing that its some kind of checksum fail that I should expect with a standard .sbf? I'm coming over from the samsung omnia world/windows mobile world.. so flashing is something I'm familiar with.. just never under android and I've not run a linux box in YEARS.

confessions of a newbie... I had NO IDEA what I was doing... well not no idea.. but who'dovthunk-it... an interface between android and windows does exist.. I knew there had to be such a beast... and since you can mount it.. you're not beholden to the restrictions set on the phone... thank you guys.. i'm a late comer I guess.. and I damn near gave myself a heart attack (an error like that on WM6.5 meant you had to find another verizon store you hadn't been to to return your omnia with an "um... I have no idea... I woke up and the phone was off" look on your face...

Bottom line, GREAT WORK... I think its time for me to start my own tinkering... any suggestions? I'm not illiterate or anything, compiled my own kernels back in the day... waay back in the day... I just kind of have the urge...

Browser is AMAZINGLY fast with no lag whatsoever when typing in browser and new Droid LW is awesome! Clocked at 900mhz and this ROM is the best i've used all except for Wireless Tethering not working! Thanks to whom ever dropped this ESE53!!!!

well if he's not familiar with adb, he doesn't have everything he needs on his phone does he? if he just sbf'd he's still got to get it set up... and can you interface with the phone through adb in recovery?

If you use the sbf to install this rom, at the end when it fails you MUST, I repeat MUST, hit the show phone button. All will be well after that.

OK. I didn't do that. I just went into the recovery tool and selected the first option. Should I reflash with sbf and start over? It takes forever to boot and I just did a nandroid to see if that fixes it... it did.
