my droid x keeps rebooting after about 5 or 10 seconds of turning on. i am running stock 4.5.605. and it doesnt show the m logo when it reboots. i need to stop it from rebooting or sbf. but when i sbf, rsdlite has errors checking all the code groups and fails to flash

What screen so you see in the device when it boots? Are there error codes on that screen?
Are you using the correct sbf files? Re-download the sbf file for your device just in case it is corrupt. Are you using rsdlite 4.8 or higher? If you can boot to a linux distro (live cd, usb, sdcard) you can try sbf_flash (google for the link). Note, when asking for assistance PLEASE explain exactly in graphic detail the extent of your issue. We can then better help you. Lockscreen?, so the device does boot to android? What happens when you unlock the lockscreen? Can you go to settings and do a factory restore from there?

no i doesnt stay on long enough and when i erase data/factory install on stock recovery it seems to work but actually fails. I would also like to mention it is bootloader 30.04 and ive tried flashing .340, .596, and .602. I am having no luck with the linux flash

rsdlite has no flash error file and here is what happens: does the creation of the file image, starts flashing code groups via interphase ap and it moves to the next code group before it finishes the current one. the only code groups that have no error and it fully flashes are the 39 and 66 ones. Then it flashes code group 3 via interphase bp and then fails

Try to sbf with a different computer
Use a different data cable if you have one Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk #9 OFFLINEPosted 29 January 2012 - 11:57 PM
without having your device in front of me to see what is going on.....here is my advice to go along with my above/previous post......
Note: Take precautions when flashing sbf files and double check that they are the correct versions for you device. Once the bootloader for the DX has been updated it cannot be downgraded to the previous version. The oldest compatible version is Froyo (2.2.1) 2.3.230.
Note: you could stay on the froyo 320 sbf if there are no errors. You could then root with z4root, bootstrap recovery using dxbootstrap. then use and AIO (all in1) ROM to update to Gingerbread. Of course the 340 sbf would be safer if doing all of the above mentioned. Source of Files Edited by cdexsw, 30 January 2012 - 12:01 AM. #10 OFFLINEPosted 30 January 2012 - 06:02 PM
ok ill try it as soon as the sbf file finishes downloading
#11 OFFLINEPosted 30 January 2012 - 06:17 PM
so far it has done the same old ...code group 33 3%.......code group 35 4%...... and code group 39 5%-100%

is there any other program to flash the file besides rsdlite and the linux. or is there a specific version of rsdlite for my droid x because it seems to work fine on my old droid 2 as far as an alternative solution to flashing an sbf there is none. your only options are:
I have not had any errors when flashing with sbf_flash (i use linux based operating systems) for any motorola device. once you start having errors using rsdlite if the linux solution does not prove effective then your device might be rendered problematic. if it was me i would download ubuntu live distro. make a bootable cd/dvd/sdcard/usbstick. boot from it. then download sbf_flash and then try flashing the sbf. #15 OFFLINEPosted 30 January 2012 - 08:35 PM
ok, i am trying a program called sbfboot that installs the linux distro. i tried .602 but nothing. i will try .340 sbf tomorrow
#16 OFFLINEPosted 31 January 2012 - 07:24 PM
ok i tried the .340 sbf via linux method by 1kids. that and 602 seemed to work but it didnt change anything at all. it seems my phone is also frozen in this current state. it doesnt change from .605 and after turning off the ringer volume it goes back up after reboot. also unable to factory reset from recovery or get enough time to do it through the settings. if there is any definate way to solve my problem, send to someone who can solve it, or trade it for another one without warranty.
