Ok, I first used the Guide to get Froyo onto a non-Rooted phonel and then later in that thread I saw this one on getting Flash. I reset my phone because I assumed that Flash was included in the OS and I thought I did something wrong... Need to download a lot of apps again now - but oh well.

The phone/about says:
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Baseband version: C_01.3E.03P
Kernel version: 2.6.29-omap1-g7fa8788android-bould@apa26#1
Build number: ESE81

I downloaded the apk using FireFox. I could not open the file when I downloaded it using IE. No errors opening the zip using FireFox.

When I use apkloader I get the error "there is a prolbme parsing the package".

Also, what do I use to tether over USB?

------------------EDIT-------------------------

OOPS, looks as if the upgrade was not done. I think maybe I selected "backup" instead of "restore" (silly me - bad eyes & fine print). It is now 2.2.

Are you connected via USB? If you mounted the SD card to your computer then that will happen.

Works great on Moto Droid! If the Download is unsuccessful, try installing via Astro file manager.

Hey guys. I got pointed here from a youtube video. I downloaded the file through Firefox, put it on the memory card and then used APK Installer to open it and now the flash works great. No Sling or Hulu but I can get news stories from news sites that I couldn't before. Thanks!

Really nice! I have some online training videos that I watch and now I can get them anywhere. Downloaded with the default Droid browser and opened it up with Astro file manger. In less then a minute I was watching a flash video.

Actually it is quite ironic because I am really looking forward to the demise of flash so this is me swallowing a little pride.

I downloaded the file "com.adobe.flashplayer-2.apk" that was posted here and installed using the free AndroZip app from the Market. I was able to install the latest Flash version without any trouble and now all of my business lectures for my Managerial Accounting class play back perfectly on my Moto Droid. Finally, all of my class lectures for my MBA will be truly portable and available any time!

Thanks to all who contributed to this. I just rooted Froyo 2.2 this evening and am pleased with the way my Droid is performing.

I'm still unable to use adobe flash? Downloaded it to the SD Card "into download file". Used Androzip to open and install select apk. message comes up saying directory is empty. The version I downloaded was .7 but I can't figure what I'm doing wrong?

Is there a step by step for dummies.......

1. dowload apkinstaller from the market.

2. place the extracted file from the download zip onto sd card.

3. launch apkinstaller and install the flash apk on your sd card.

4. make sure unknown sources is selected in main settings

Tried this also and still no Flash???/

Downloaded file in Chrome
Used windows default package manager to extract it
Over to root folder on the SD card
Used Astro to open it with the app manager
?????
Profit

Works great, just rooted and upgraded to Froyo a few days ago, loving this community

Probably a stupid question but did you actually run the package file once you unzipped it? Should have been an APK file so you would have to turn on the allow third party apps not downloaded from the appstore checbox then run the apk file.

Thank you! I downloaded it on my Moto Droid 2.2. Opened a flash site and magic ensued. That easy. So pumped.
