I'm trying to use the Swapper app from the Market. It says I need to use a swap enabled kernel. The app will create the swap file, but the Android system never recognizes it as being there. Do I need to install the RAMZSWAP module to make this work?

I installed the 1ghz low voltage kernel for FroYo a week ago. I noticed when my phone is booting up and the words "Droid" appear, its very laggy. When the red eye appears, there's a little lag then its smooth again. Is my phone one of the phones that can't handle that high of an overclock or something?

I am very new to customizing my phone. I allowed my Motorola Droid to update to the 2.2, rooted it and now I am curious if it is possible to make further modifications. Is is problem that I am using Launcher Pro as my home launcher?

I've successfully installed the 2.2 LV125-1000 kernel on my Droid. I've noticed two issues so far. The cpu clock in System Panel as well as Time in State in SetCPU do not register. Otherwise, the kernel is apparently working well. In addition, when I reboot, the booting animation is intermittently slow and the whole boot routine is much longer than with Stock. I would appreciate any comments about these issues.

Update: I've switched to the LV125-800. All is well. In fact, the LV125-1000 worked well after the initial reboot. However, the cpu clock continue not to register. It does register with the 800 version.

P3Droid,

I have the overclock kernel installed and it does not report the CPU Temp. I tried 2 kernels : LV-250-1000-v32kernel first then went to LV-125-1000-v32kernel. I have rooted stock droid 1 FRG22D. I am using SetCPU. Before this, when we were at 2.1-update I was using 1000_LV_Wi_USB_Tether. That showed the CPU Temp in SetCPU.

Any takers??

Thank you

Greetings! I have a question or two, too... After reading through the last 32 pages, I haven't seen where there is any definitive information as to just what Kernel would provide the longest battery life - vs. - the fastest response vs. quickest drain, etc. Can anyone (P3Droid) possibly provide that table or graph? I think that may very well answer a number of inquiries both previously posted as well prevent future submissions. I am a Rooted FROYO22D on a Droid 1... and look forward to the soonest reply! Thank You.

unfortunately, all kernels and all phones react differently...you have to load some up and do some testing....I have had a lot of success with ChevyNo1's 1.2ghz ultra low kernel running at 800 with conservative chosen in setcpu...no other presets....just let setcpu govern the cpu....running CM6

It seems the kernels here lack ipv6 support which is something Google Goggles needs that is causing the Force Closes on startup.
Cheers,

So i rooted my android with a Onix Concepts Gala S, and i overclocked it. It was working fine, i was redoing all my settings and apps. I went to reboot the phone, it did a full reboot, but soon as it gets to the home screen it freezes and reboots itself. It just keeps rebooting in this same viscious circle. I cant do a thing in my phone, so what are my other options. Would really appreciate some help with this.

It sounds like you may have pushed overclocking too far & configured SetCPU to start overclocking during boot -- you probably need to restore a previous nandroid or flash a stock or lower overclock kernel than you have in there -- not all phones can be OC'd as much as others -- in my case, I can't go over 1100 or I see similar behavior -- I never have setCPU start during boot until several days of smooth sailing with a new kernel.
