I was scared of that too, but I followed radar3d guide on rooting 2.1 and then flashed 2.2. It was worth it!

Are you using autodetect?

yes, did that too. tried installing 1.25 also, but still shows 800 max. tried to fix permissions with clockworkmod, that didn't work either

Have you tried uninstalling SetCPU and then resinstalling and trying auto-detect again?

Great work, this is awesome!

The kernel doesn't seem to have TUN support built in. Also, the 1.25 link downloads the 1.1 kernel. Would it be possible to build the kernel with TUN support?

I guess the directions were wrong that was originally posted. Where am I choosing "allow update.zip" from? thats when I am in recovery mode right. Can you please jot down the steps that you recommend me to follow. apparently the ones from here were a bit off..Thanks Olta

Posted 05 June 2010 - 10:57 PM

OK, From the begining...

I was rooted in 2.1
Used nandroid to back up
installed Froyo 2.2 using the sprecovery (wiped all data)
*everything ran slow till all was updated, then was very stable and smooth*
no wi-fi
installed 250 - 1100 Download
renamed file to *update(.zip is the file extention no need to type)
installed using sprecovery selected
Everything works
-froyo 2.2
-overclocked kernel

Quadrant results
1199

Issues
-no flash (installing that next)
-wifi works but turns off every few seconds

To-do's
-install flash
-upgrade kernel to 1200

Question... How do i know if i have root access? the SU app is not in my drawer! I mean i assume i do because i can install custom roms, but i cant use some of my root access apps like Vault... Do i redo the process for rooting???

please let me know.. i learned alot tonight, first time doing anything like this...

Are you able to set the overclock to desired using setCPU or overclock app? If yes, you are good....if not, then just run update.zip again. :)

And...welcome to MyDroidWorld!!!!
