Any one in Sacramento willing to help convert my Droid to Froyo. I am a little slow when it comes to computer stuff. Thanks. Michael

Usually after any ROM change, I did a couple reboots to smooth things out...now with Froyo, it is a more than one step process and many people in the midst of excitement miss little details and steps. Also, remember that different droids tolerate different overclock kernels as well. How is it working on your Droid? :) The problem is that I have yet to see a totally comprehensive step by step guide that includes all of the "little details and steps" Are you aware of such a guide that isn't missing anything? Nowhere in the instructions I've read does it say (reboot several times). #46 OFFLINEPosted 07 June 2010 - 05:14 AM
What about the always forgotten Milestone ? Anyone tried ??

Why isn't anyone answering those who are asking if they follow this process will they still be rooted or still un-rooted at the end of this?
Also can you install a OC if your non-rooted? If not does this version also block wifi use? Thanks #48 OFFLINEPosted 07 June 2010 - 05:54 AM
If I have already installed froyo and want to root my droid. Do I have to start it all again?

Thanks n0m0n, I am clarifying on your question as I was under the impression that once you went thru the process in the first post, that the phone would be rooted at end. But, I may be wrong. I will get back to you and others on this question. :)

Nowhere in the instructions I've read does it say (reboot several times). jtelander, I understand your frustration, but with Android before loading ROMs, there are usually other little things that need to be done. Which process are you looking for exactly? I have posted many helpful links here: http://www.mydroidwo...t-q-thread.html and hopefully it covers your question and if you would like any step clarified, please let us know. :)

Also if you cold clarify on how would 1 get back to 2.1.1 non-root status if I wanted to go back due to a return or swop out of a defective device if that were the case? Could I go back and leave no history or files that they could detect where ever the returns go? Thanks #54 OFFLINEPosted 07 June 2010 - 07:41 AM n0m0n said: OK thank you.. I finally got the RSD start button to work. I had to rename the .sbf file and add a number or character. As soon as I renamed the file and loaded it with RSD the start button was available.
But now when I try to flash the phone I get a "Failed Flashing Process (0x7100); phone connected" status? TIA, Scott #56 OFFLINEPosted 07 June 2010 - 07:59 AM
Ok, now how do I go about this "cache clearing" that has been recommended to do 3 or 4 times?

Will or is there a way to return to a stock 2.1 status? I am just worried that if there is a issue with my device I dont want Verizon to tell me your lost your warranty. I think olta was looking into this for me. Thanks 1 user(s) are reading this topic0 members, 1 guests, 0 anonymous users |
