So check it out.

This is the beginning of a chain of releases you will see from me.

Getting started off with these boot animations and catching back up with some photoshop skills I recently found a way to massive edit tons of images within seconds which led me to these releases.

I went up the color scale and produced one of each Droid Eye with a custom color.

"Please note that the .GIF Images in this thread display the images in a lower FPS than the actual bootanimation will show on your phone. They were created in Photoshop and I had no control over the FPS"

Tools needed:

1.) Phone (Captain Obvious)
2.) Computer / SD Card
3.) File management app for phone (i.e Root Explorer)

To install one of these boot animations:

1.) Download the file of your choice you would like to use.
2.) Delete the _COLOR after bootanimation so it just reads "bootanimation"
*DO NOT add .zip after bootanimation as it is already in a zip format.
3.) Mount your SD Card to your computer and copy/paste the selected bootanimation to any folder or root directory on your SD Card as long as you know where it is located.
4.) Unmount your SD Card and go back to your phone.
5.) Open your file manager. I use Root Explorer.
6.) The default boot animation directory is "data/local". DELETE your old bootanimation.zip if there is one. If not make sure that if you are using a ROM find out from the developer what directory their bootanimation is in so it does not interfere with your new one. And delete it.
7.) Go back to the directory you saved the boot animation in.
8.) Copy the bootanimation.zip
9.) Navigate to "data/local" and "paste" the new boot animation.
10.) Restart phone and enjoy :D

If you liked this thread and boot animations let me know by giving rep and saying thanks. Better feedback is motivation for future releases. If you want something in particular let me know. This was the first release I planned on doing and I will get more "Custom" with my releases as time goes on.

Np, it's actually why I edited these that way. I often change up my themes and I'm very picky about the total package lol. Has to have everything.

Your welcome.

Sooner or later I'm going to reduce the image count and file sizes of the png's so the boot is a smooth lag free start up. You will notice it's a little slower than the original because of the colors I instituted. More images + color = longer and slower load due to a slow 30 FPS the phone is set to read the BA at.

Thanks.

Appreciate the welcome.

Sorry to anyone who maybe looking forward to further releases. They will be delayed a bit due to family related issues. Most important first, but haven't forgot about MDW at all :D

OK so If I have one of these boot animations. And I extract it and edit it. How do I then go about preparing it to go back on the phone. I downloaded the leaked droid x bootanimation.zip file. and if take that file and just rename it and put it on the phone it works. but if I extract the file, change nothing, rezip the contents into a seperate bootanimation.zip, and place it in the same exact place...it doesnt work.

i'm using the latest version of winrar, does that make a difference? should I use winzip?

anyone care to help?

I am wondering the same thing. They say to re-zip using no compression, but I have not had any luck making it work either..

My Droid doesn't have a local folder inside the data folder, so I'm not quite sure where I should stick this.
