I keep getting "device not found" on steps 4 and 5 and i tried the steps on page 5 to try and fix it by device manger but not hope.. please help me.

Please post a request for help with this somewhere else (a new thread, perhaps), as it's not really pertaining to the DRK (since you tried going in directly through Dev Mgr to no avail). I'm unsure of a solution for that.

I reset to 2.0.1 re rooted using the rootkit. Now i wanted to update baseband and do a back up but when i went to do baseband my phone reset into recovery mode but it says E:cant open cache/recovery/command Whats that mean? I dont see the "Install Zip From SDCard". All i see is apply sdcard: update zip

Then, select "Choose ZIP from SDCard". Then select the "baseband" folder. Then
select C_01.43.01P.zip.

What should i DO? I want to upgrade baseband get a backup and get froyo.

I have read through all of the posts but still have a few questions. Which kernel do you use in your DRK? Also will using your DRK erase my currently installed apps and their app data (ex: to do tasks in the program Astrid Tasks)? Last question. Do you have links to the most up to date froyo ROM? I am a little confused on if I have to get the original and then update it. Or if there is just one file out there.

Keep up the great work! Your program will make it very easy for me to root and start learning about linux. Thanks a lot!

But shouldn't I just wait on OTA Froyo?
When it's released will they be kit to root that?

Noob to phones not computers.. :-)

Did you enable debugging on the phone?

This will erase your phone. There isn't a kernel used in the DRK since it doesn't come with a ROM. You put any ROM you want into the DRK to install, so it's up to you.

That's up to you. Root now and root again when froyo OTA comes out, if you want. If not, then wait.

Hi, this is my first post. I was trying this out and everything was going well until the end of step 6 (updating the baseband). I called the number (*22899) and it keeps failing.

edit- It just worked as I was posting this! Must not have the greatest connection or something... great program you have here!

edit2- Steps 8/9 can be skipped right?

Glad you got it working. I've had issues activating as well; I think it's just VZW's towers flaking out. Yes, 8 and 9 can be skipped. They're just to further customize if you want.

Just checked the download stats and it looks like the DRK has had over 1000 total downloads. Thanks everyone!

Yeah, well I am rooted 2.0.1 now thanks!

I just wanted to ask you about installing roms, since I just rooted 2.0.1 is it ok to use your program to install a froyo rom like the newest bugless beast? or do I have to find a way to get to froyo first?

You can install Froyo directly from 2.0.1. Make sure you install the custom recovery, incase there are any issues once Froyo is installed. Also, backup your phone before installing for the same reason. The next version of DRK will have the ability to directly download and install ROMs from the application, but I don't have a timeframe on releasing it as I'm dragging ass a little bit :)

Take all the time you need! I just have one more question though haha... Your program put clockworkmod recovery on my droid right? Not SPRecovery?

because with one of them I have to name my installed rom update.zip I believe

Yes, ClockWorkMod 2.0.1.3 should have been installed.
