Upgrading with the OTA update will upgrade you to official (unrooted). You don't need to unroot first.

So when i root it and have 2.2 and the offical update comes i can just do the over the air update normally and have no problems

if you install a rooted 2.2, you won't receive the OTA, it will be blocked. There is no reason to go back to OTA "OFFICIAL" updates...you get everything you need with root, with tweaks you will NEVER see on an official release...you can't backup your phone if you are running stock....
you can get the "official leaked" 2.2, that is essentially what you will get with the OTA update, and still have a rooted phone to overclock, remove unwanted VZW bloatware, etc. i have found that Froyo likes to run @ 800mhz...and you can't run at 800 if you're not rooted. hope this helps 1 user(s) are reading this topic0 members, 1 guests, 0 anonymous users |
