I got a Droid about a month ago, and was VERY disappointed that I couldn't watch videos (not YouTube), so I started to do searches on why this might be, and found out I needed Flash, and could not install it, as I'm running Android 2.1-update1. I used to hack Motorolas back a few years ago, especially a bunch of V180 quad-band GSM that AT&T told me were locked by the factory, and couldn't be unlocked. Never tell an engineer that they can't do something that should be allowed anyway. I even unlocked my daughter's V360, where you have to, VERY CAREFULLY, Dremel through a shield to ground a particular testpoint to put it in boot loader mode. I started reading about rooting, and ROMs, and Froyo 2.2 that could run Flash 10, and getting a little obsessed. I haven't rooted my phone yet, as 2.2 is supposed to go OTA between 8/5 and 8/15, at least according to Randy here on MDW. I also read that Moto was going to lock the boot loader after 2.2, so I'm less than thrilled with that. Oh BTW, my screen name comes from being named Jack and being a saxophonist.
