Am I able to revert back to 2.1 if needed? Will using this leaked update prevent me from using official ones in any way?

+1 Someone has to have tried the sbf after installing this leak...

Wasn't a problem at all...phone just needed some time to sync the account and get back to normal. Everything is working fine now!

Is anyone running into a problem with the Market after doing the update? I'm getting the "an error has occurred - please try again later". The screen that it is trying to hit in the background looks like the "android market terms of service" page. I was rooted prior to the update, followed the steps on the post (even moving su from bin to xbin) and everything looked good during the install. Any thoughts?

Thanks from the new guy to MDW...been on DF for a while and first time posting here.

It wasn't $hit when you got it, so why trash him now? Hmm?

Poor Form, period.

SBF and then root and run this. I suppose you'll be calling this $hit if you run into any issues as well ....

Yeah seriously. This guy did all this work and was the big talk yesterday and now you're going to bash him?

Root of the SD card = root directory or "top level" or top most folder... (in windows, if you go My Computer -> open drive, it opens to the "ROOT directory"... at a command prompt if you're at C:\ that is the "root directory of drive C")

DO NOT UNZIP.. just place on the top level of the SD card.

As for voiding warranty.. I would imagine putting firmware, OS, or modification on your device that VZW or Google didn't release or intend to release probably voids your warranty.

Using the SBF file, and flashing back to the that should get you to a point where no one knows or realizes you did anything...

Thank you so much for the quick response. I know with my old BB verizon used to give me crap when i had any issues cause I had a leaked os but it was simple to wipe then reinstall the official then go back to the store no problem. I don't know what an SBF is nor how I would go back to 2.1. Again though what would happen if verizon's official is different than this leak can you just wipe and clean install the official? I only know Blackberry leaks lol and I am just learning how android works.

For rooting... how different are the instructions at

Please Login HERE or Register HERE to see this link!

from the "DroidXRoot.exe" thing (kind of a 1click root tool)?

i.e. If I rooted with that one click exe on my PC, do I need to unroot and follow the rootzwiki stuff first?
to answer my own question... apparently it doesn't matter.

I just moved the SU to the xbin folder like the instructions to install the leak said, and continued with installing this leak... after I still have ROOT :D

Does tethering via Bluetooth on a non rooted DroidX work in this leaked 2.2? I currently use that all the time in my non rooted 2.1.

IF you take your phone back to VZW with this leak on it, they will likely say your warranty is void and not help you.

As for SBF and going back to 2.1, please see the link that dbond306 shared in post #40 of this thread. Its more for if you completely killed your phone, but it does have info about the SBF file whats needed to flash it.
