Rsdlite is an msi file. I have to be in windows to flash? No way to flash in linux? I don't have a windows box anywhere. I'd have to borrow a friends, and that would be shameful and emberrassing.

You must put your device in bootloader manually
open a command prompt type sudo chmod +x sbf_flash
the run the command sudo ./sbf_flash filename.sbf
this will flash your device if you need to

So, I'm a Linux guy, can I use the same method to SBF 2.2 as I did on 2.1?

Edit: Sorry just saw above post...

NOTHING. This will put you back to the official 2.2. Read up on what SBF files do.

This file, should you truly brick your phone, or be one of the few that tried to run the 2.1u1 SBF after moving to the 2.2 OTA update, will allow you to put a fresh copy of the updated boot loader, kernel, radio and OS on your phone.

I bricked my x trying to back to 2.1 after the ota 2.2. I've been using an old blackberry for a couple of weeks and I'm really feeling so 1980's with it. Slow, clunky... reminds me of Dos 3.

Many thanks to everyone involved in getting this into my sweaty hands, I've been so missing my X. (After living with this BB for a bit I'm even feeling a bit nostalgic for the Moto/Verizon crap-ware stuffed into my X...<G>)

WOOT!

Dean

Addendum - My X is now officially a zombie X, back from the dead! Thanks again to everyone for getting this file out to us. "Brainzzzzzz...." <G>
