Hey I'm pretty new to this but I've had my Droid X (now with the 2.2 Froyo update) for a little over a month. In the first couple weeks when I booted up my Droid the droid eye animation came on and the "Drooooiid" sound would go off. Now only the animation works and there is only a short vibrate instead of the sound. I looked all over and what most people say is to make sure the phone isn't on silent mode or vibrate (duh).. All the sound is turned on, I've checked the notifications on all alerts and I even set them all to the "Droooiid" sound just to see if that would work.... no luck :pissed The only thing that makes any sense is that an app that I downloaded might have caused this.

Any other suggestions?

I have the same problem w/ my D2! I have rooted and since changed my boot animation. I thought maybe it was the root that did it.

Put the sound file in your /system/media directory.
