Ok, so I have created my own little boot animation as you see below. What I have no idea is how to break it up and put it in either part 0 or part 1 and what to put in the description. Here is the breakdown:

Its for a Droid X
It has 17 frames in total.
It is designed to loop twice.
I created this in Photoshop.
Is 480x800 the proper size ?

Does it matter what size it is? Does it have to be so many frames? If its only 17 frames how to you decide to put what frames in part 0 vs part 1? Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated. And lastly what do you guys think?

R2D2 bootanimation had the best break down of the desc.txt

Quote

# 480 wide, 854 high, 15 frames a second
480 854 15

# p means we're defining a part
# first number is repeat count, 0 means infinite
# second number is delay in frames before performing the next part
# so if you are playing 15 frames a second 15 would be... one second
# string defines the directory to load files from
# files will be loaded in order but names don't matter

# s defines a sound for a part
# sounds will be loaded from /data/local
# oggs with loop points will loop automatically
# only one sound will play at a time
# timing is driven by the part, not the sounds
# if you want no sound, declare 'none'

# stars for 30 frames
p 1 30 part0
s none

# R2D2 rises
p 1 0 part1
s none

# Looping R2D2
p 0 0 part2
s d2_r2d2_pu.ogg

# must have newline after each part

if all the frames are designed to loop twice, then you would only need part0: Below I have it 480x854 @ 5 frames per second. You may want to drill it down to 1-2 frames per second.

480 854 5

p 2 0 part0

s none

Ok, still nothing, just a blank screen upon boot and thats it. No images or anything, I have given up at this point unless someone is going to take a donation and do it.

Make sure you are 7zip'ing the file in STORE mode. Do not compact it, only store it

That will cause the blackscreen if it is truly a compacted zip.

In 7Zip, I don't see what you mean by compact or store mode, I'm just adding the part0 folder to a zip as well as the desc.txt file and it then creates the zipped file?
