The newest Verizon FRG83 has been deodexed, busyboxed, and given root.

This is as basic as it gets, and if there is a problem due to my deodexing, don't tell me. haha

***you will have the stock kernel that installs with this ROM, but shoot on over to my kernel page and get an O/C Kernel -

So here it is for you in a simple update.zip format.



To update to the newest version of Froyo (Android 2.2.1) for the Droid, follow the directions below.

1) Download the files

Links are all down due to C & D from Motorola

DEODEXED DOWNLOAD
Direct Download ----- Links No Longer Available

ODEXED DOWNLOAD

2) Place files on the root of your SD
3) Go into your Recovery
4) Clockwork Directions: go to install zip, find the zip on your sd card, and install
SPrecovery Directions: go to install zip, select allow update.zips (deprecated), install update.zip
5) Reboot your phone.

The rom's running nice and smootly, no issues updating any apps or anything like some of the past releases. No build.prop edits required. Perfect. Great work again! I love having higher build numbers but I wish I knew what what actually different. Lol. Is there a changelog that got leaked? Maybe?

as of 9:07 PM PST, FRG83 is not showing in TBH App.

Can anyone confirm if they see it in the app?

Download links are up now in the OP and I haven't had any problems seeing them in TBH.

Can you just update or would a full wipe be best? I'm just lazy and don't like remaking my homescreens lol

Doesn't show in the TBH app on my DX - assume this is for the D1, right?

*EDIT*: Just answered my own question by checking twitter - from TBH: Next up on the release schedule is the BIG BROTHER, DX :)

this is the odexed version, btw, then flashed over FRG22D-ODXD-metiCkone. core apps are functioning and stable [market, maps, GPS, BT, wifi, etc.], and root-related are fine [i'm on wireless tether as i type]. per SetCPU, the kernel appears to be 800, not sure what voltage though [and no CPU temp sensor]. had chevy's 800 LV [w/CPU temp sensor], but using this as an opp to compare performance. worse comes to worst i can flash back to chevy's.

nexus1-related forums noted Gallery's improved fetch-sync with picasaweb albums--i think i see it too but it could be placebo or a temporary house-cleaning effect of wiping cache.
i dont see a performance loss from my original setup. with metiCkone's ROM+chevy's kernel, and "launcher always in memory"-hack, my phone was peppy and a relative battery-sipper to begin with.

XM/Sirius app does not work with this new build. Anyone else have problems with it? That's a huge deal breaker.
