This week has been extremely busy for MyDroidWorld!!! Starting from our update to vBulletin 4.0.1, site makeover and overall smoothing of rough edges, we are pleased to say that we are almost at where we would like to be!!! Before I start with the Week In Review, I would like to say a special welcome each one of you who joined our site, and if you have not done so yet, hurry up and Register to be part of our MyDroidWorld family!!!
This week brought us many news...some were neutral or more leaning towards not so good, some good and others really good. Starting with the neutral side, we found out from Motorola that No Updated has been released for Motorola Droid users and still no date in regards to Android 2.1 that everyone is eagerly waiting for. I personally am bummed as I would like to load pure 2.1 versus rooting and using custom ROMs...but may be a mix drink is better than straight??? One the better side, we have reports of Google's Revenue increase, an update of Android 1.6 released for Archos 5 Internet Tablet, and surfacing images of Gigabyte GSmart, MyTouch 3G v1.2 and possibly rumored new Sony Ericsson Abelin phones.
A very important update has come from Rogers as HTC has released an update to address HTC Dream and HTC Magic 911 issue. Please don't delay updating your phone, if you are a Rogers customer with those devices, as your Internet may be turned off January 24th.
Continuing with our list and observations, an image showing HTC Supersonic running Android 3.0 has appeared! How is that possible or fair? Not all devices have even been updated to either Android 2.0 or 2.1 and now HTC is talking about 3.0? It may be a fake image, but enough to make me curious what is going on behind closed doors of HTC and Google. Since we mentioned Google, visit Google Android Developers Lab page for your chance for a World Tour to 15 Cities, and that is if you are a developer. Another benefit of being a developer is that Google is also offering a FREE Nexus One or Motorola Droid in order to help developers create games and other apps.
