It may not be the most elegant solution, but for now, looks like the only way to disable 4G is by removing the SIM card from the phone.
Forget the method above lol, that will just cause your phone to stop working. Here is a way to disable 4g for now. Thanks Mandroid2010 for the tip: Dial *#*#4636#*#* go into Phone Info, scroll down "Set preferred network type", choose CDMA Auto (PRL). Edited by jlevy73, 19 March 2011 - 12:29 PM. #2 OFFLINE

I seen somewhere that you could do *# ........ and disable it there i will check to see if i can find it

when I posted that on another sight remove sim card. I was told the phone would not work with out.

You can just download the app "Phone Info" from the Android Market, which will get you to the test menu quicker than dialing *#*#4636#*#*, and you can toggle btwn LTE/EvDo, and you can access it in your apps at anytime! Same results, shorter time to get there!
