I am not getting very far as many of the posts assume the reader knows what the writer is talking about... when I go to /Settings/About Phone the following information is displayed...

My PC is a Win 7 x64

So what I am trying to accomplish is being able to run Titanium Backup
and easy WiFi tether...

The MotoBlur? I think it is called, does not offend me greatly.

1st attempt was using SuperOneClick - no joy

I have paid for and installed TBH app... and am directed overhear for assistance.

* Reboot phone after install
* Launch z4root and select Permanent Root
* Phone will reboot
* You will now have root access
* Download Tethering app and Titanium Backup
* Profit!

I posted all of my stats because reading there are many "flavors"?

This if X - but be careful will brick if Y... heck, not sure what I have... which
items are compatible.

Only if some of that has come from tethering... if it was all on your phone then you should be fine

It works!!! Now have a Super User (SU) icon in my app list... Thanks all... I just was worried if it was compatible with the latest update from the "darkside"...

I use about 10 to 15 GB a month on my phone. I doubt 16 will raise any eyebrows.
