I am not getting very far as many of the posts assume the reader knows what the writer is talking about... when I go to /Settings/About Phone the following information is displayed...

- - - - start of phone information - - - -

System version - Version.2.3.340.MB810.Verizon.en.US

Model number - Droid X

Android version - 2.2.1

Baseband version - BP_C_01.09.07P

Kernel version - 2.6.32.9-g55626e1
w3041@il93lnxdroid08 #1

Build number - VZW

ERI version - 5

PRL version - 51992

- - - - end of phone information - - - -

My PC is a Win 7 x64

So what I am trying to accomplish is being able to run Titanium Backup
and easy WiFi tether...

The MotoBlur? I think it is called, does not offend me greatly.

1st attempt was using SuperOneClick - no joy

I have paid for and installed TBH app... and am directed overhear for assistance.

Thank you for assisting a NOOB.

Only if some of that has come from tethering... if it was all on your phone then you should be fine

It works!!! Now have a Super User (SU) icon in my app list... Thanks all... I just was worried if it was compatible with the latest update from the "darkside"...

I use about 10 to 15 GB a month on my phone. I doubt 16 will raise any eyebrows.
