I have a rooted droid A855 that is stuck on the "M" screen. Prior to me using a new font ap, the phone worked perfectly. Now it is stuck on the "M Screen. I have to pull the battery to turn it off. I've tried the master reset to no avail. Anybody have any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks! Is there any hope? I always heard that if you could get to the "M" screen, that the phone is still programable.

Download rsd lite and dig through the droid forums until you find the proper sbf for the phone. There more instructions. On how to flash the sbf its a very common problem and should be a widely discussed topic, the a855 is the droid 1 right? Check the how to's in that forum and its should pop right up ¤xmitted from DS4.2DX¤ #5 OFFLINEPosted 20 April 2011 - 04:34 AM
Thanks again! I will search for it. Yes it is a Droid 1 running 2.2.1

IT WORKED!!!!!!!! I found this link, . I used the info here to flash back to 2.2. There are download links for two zip files (I only needed to use one of them) that did the trick. Now waiting to see if the OTA updates push it to current rev level. My brick is now a Droid again! Thanks again for your help!

Update - Without activating the phone, I lit up the Wi-Fi and within 30 seconds of doing so, an update push notice came up. I followed the prompts and now the phone is now updated to 2.2.2 with FRG83G.

Maybe a Motorola Droid X? What would you suggest? #17 OFFLINEPosted 27 April 2011 - 04:18 PM
That depends on what's available at the next upgrade..... phones are changing so fast...probably something motorola, they seem to be the easiest to really play with.
