I was on P3droids GBpatch 1 2 3 and running fine.
Also added screen rotate 270 hack and had tv screen shut off addin.
Life was grand.

I let my curiosity get the best of me and loaded gingeraid 4.2e
bricked the dx had bootloops but after 6 factory wipe and reset
it just would not come out of it.
So I get to the bootloader and sbf back to froyo.
Running pure stock rooted.
That freaked me out and was so happy when I got her going again.
Standing by this time, Im going to wait for p3droids next release.
I don't think flashing every night a real good idea.
You get hooked on flashing im serious.
I need help :)
So please can we have a little update.
How is tranquility GB looking.
How soon may we see the rom.
Not pushing guys, just so curious and waiting.
Thank you for any info at all.:hooray

This topic started out with the idea to get P3 to give something up.
Even if just a tease.
We all have been flashing junkies lately.
I understand TBH works on many things.
We all just want P3droids next release.
Maybe he is just fed up with the dx who knows.
I said in another post somewhere I was getting a Thunderbolt here in about 10 days.
Might hold out for a bionic, not sure on that one.
Just wanted to get p3's rom set up before I gave the dx to my wife.
What ever we get.
Good luck to every one in the flashing wars lol.

Can I ask you something? Good, thanks :) I'm not familiar with Gingeraid, meaning I never installed it when I was running GB. Do you know if it's suppose to deodex your phone for you? If it doesn't and you installed something that changes framework.res and your not deodexed, this would be the reason for any brick and/or bootlooping.

As for flashing every night, not gonna hurt your phone. Not as long as you follow instructions. These devs sometimes flash more in a week then some will flash in a few years. They have to flash and sbf constantly to make progress.

And hold tight on the ROM's. There will be some good ones coming. Hopefully sooner than later.

The gingeraid 4.2e instructions were simple.
FLASH P3'S GBDEXROOT
Step 2 flash gingeraid 4.2e
I did this to the tee, first step went fine.
step 2 bootlooped non stop even after 6 factory resets.
I thought it should have been cake.

Did you boot up after install of each zip? Or did you install them back to back while in Clockwork?

Yep rebooted after first also had to sign in and all that.
that's how I know the first step went ok.
I just went to the site to copy the instructions and the site will not load.

I had the same issue as you did Tanium, I just used P3s orginal leaks gbrooted and rooted deodex and then installed broodcomb 1.0 and then broodcomb 2.0 working like a champ i did have a boot loop issue after completion but the stock recovery data wipe fixed that. So as of now the X is kicking good no base band update since I could get the 123 step to work.

I have had no luck with any of Drew Garen roms.. Just the last few days I have done all the gingerbread roms... gingeraid constant reboots.. zap would not go past adding accounts.. would ask for pin for sync then go back to add accounts then click done adding and it would go back to sync endless deal.. brood comb wouldnt find my apps and couldnt install any files from sd card.. couldnt use wireless would connect but would not work in anything, couldnt acess home computer files, couldnt access internet couldnt use market from wireless. Yes I done many factory resets from stock recovery each time I had an issue and every single rom ended in an sbf.

With his .340 roms I had countless issues as well. Some ppl seem to not have any issues with his roms but I follow directions to a tee and get slapped int he face.. You know what they say.. different phones act differently.. well mine hates his roms.. My phone runs great on tranq.. just the battery hates tranq... been stuck using apex.. not really that bad.. for a month or two now..

Well I had just redownloaded dxgbroot.zip and flashed it.
So I went ahead and tried to load gingeraid 4.2e again.

This time around was flawless so what can I say.
one time just like many have posted you bootloop.
This time it loaded great no issues not even a wipe.
Turns out to be a solid build.
Also has the tv crt animation and the pulldown command.
I recommend gingeraid 4.2e to anyone looking for a nice solid Ginger bread build.

In my opinion there is not a rom worth running right now.

I'm happy with stock at the moment. When some of the bugs are worked out of these roms I will reconsider.

I'll give it some time. A few days maybe. I'm impatient. I wasn't really all that impressed with Liberty on Froyo though. Maybe I'll like the GB version though.

+1 on the Froyo build being okay, not that impressed (on my phone anyway). I just flashed the Liberty GB nightly rom v0.3 and holy crap! It's fast (running LLP on top)! Can't comment on battery life yet, but the performance is the best I've seen on my phone, period. Can't wait to see the final build. Personally, I'm patiently waiting for Darkslide to come out for GB, but until then, Liberty is impressing me this go around.

The reason you guys have/had issues installing Brodcomb, LexLite, or even ZapX are because of the deodexed file you had installed prior to flashing Drew's work. IE if you have the .588 deodexed file installed and then try to load the ROM you'll have problems. The simplest way to be current if you want to use Drew's ROM is use P3's 3part flash then boot the phone up and make sure everything is working correctly. Once you know it is flash the device with the .578 deodexed file and then flash one of Drew's ROMs and you'll have no trouble. I've lpayed and tyest everyone late last wk and into the wekend without issue. besides some of the minor bugs he is working on.

As for app not showing up in the Market he has the stock build.prop in there which is why some do not display. to fix it pull the build.prop from one of P3's *.zip files and put it on your device in the /system folder. Reboot and you are good to go.

I must concur - I've tried so many different ROMs since DX came out, but the only one that I actually stayed with and was productive with was DarkSlide. I was chomping at the bit awaiting a GB release of it, but then I heard through the forum that P3 was going through some rough stuff in his family and hasn't been able to really devote any time to the development right now. My heart goes out to him, I just got off recuperation for prostate surgery myself - nowhere near what he's going through, but I have a very basic understanding of how illness in the family can totally alter any schedules/plans that may have been existing before. For now, I think the best thing we can do is to be patient and keep all the devs in our prayers. Sometimes, we forget that they really do have a life outside of here. I know that I've been guilty of that on more than one occasion. I've altered my obsession to my XOOM for now so that I don't totally lose my mind.

Love y'all - hang in there...we'll be comparing notes on our favorite ROMs soon enough.

Take care.
