This release was brought to you through a special NINJA, who will remain nameless but we all thank you very much for your work on behalf of the community.

This is a new system and kernel, you will be able restore a nand backup to (4.5.588 or 4.5.573) but you can not restore back to Froyo.

This will install right over the top of any previous Gingerbread installs. I have not tested this against other offshoot roms (Apex, Liberty, etc.) You should install over those at your own risk. If previous GB build has been Modified or Themed you will need to return it to an unmodified state.

I have not added any easter eggs or other mods to this release, the only change made was to the build prop to fix the Market Applications not showing.

If you find that your phone is no longer rooted after installing this Firmware, you should use Gingerbreak to re-reoot your device. You can find GingerBreak here.

Directions:

Dowload the zip
Reboot phone into Clockwork Recovery
Install the Zip file.

Tried to restore Backup of .588 made right before flashing this and upon startup I am getting massive force closes on everything. Any way to fix this other than SBF?

Few things I wanted to ask?

1) You list it as Download 1, 2, 3. Those are just three separate mirrors, correct? Or do we need to download and install all three?

2) Can we still SBF back to Froyo?

3) What is the difference between the two versions?

I had this happen to me as well. I just installed the Gingerbread_2.3.588_deodexed.zip in clockwork over what was installed, worked great

Tried that. No dice for me. I tried several times. I am going to try to reflash this new leak and see if that changes anything.

have you tried wiping data, then installing , then restoring only your data? I seem to have remember having to do that for some prior gingerbread build

I think people are getting confused based on what I'm seeing in Twitter...to clarify, P3 did say you could *SBF* back to Froyo, I think the confusion is in the instructions he means you can't restore a Froyo nandroid on a GB kernel. I can already tell everyone is panicking...

Thanks for the leak, TBH :) Might want to add a sentence in your instructions though just to avoid getting bombarded by tweets/posts. <3 Team.

Is there any chance that the edit to the buildprop will resolve issue with a few apps that I couldn't get to run correctly on .588, it was implied that the issue I had with my Gameloft games was related to buildprop data... Anyone can verify this before I install.. Also I noticed that all screen off apps didn't work with .588 build but worked fine in .573 version.

Can anyone enlighten me on this subject because I really miss using these apps....

Is there a way to install just the baseband from .588? Updated my wifes phone from .573 and didn't updated her to .588 before this. So now she is on .591 with the older baseband.

New version installed flawlessly. Tried to install the crt animation and got stuck in bootloops. Thankfully I was able to restore a backup. Moral of the story, do not use the screen off animation!

Thanks P3. Tested the tbh version last night, it installed and gingerbreak worked perfectly. CRT mod caused bootlooping, luckily nandroided back safe and sound. Guess I can delete the froyo backups now. Thanks again!

How you all getting GingerBreak to work? I've reformatted my sdcard twice and tried rebooting numerous times. It just sits there unmounting or whatever it's doing. Three times last night I let it go for over a half hour. Still haven't gotten it to root it lol

Really? I didn't have any issues. I've done it a couple of times so far. Are you sure your SD Card isn't bad?
