P.S. Your running the official 596 right and not another customized 596 build?

yes official. i always start clean with an SBF and did the 2 part install upgrade then deodex zip. done it a few times now with no problems, feel pretty confident in myself on that end.
i will try a flash back to stock and back to theme once i get home from work. ill let you know. thanks.

Before you do, my next suggestion would be to just revert to 595. Run gingerbreak v1.2 then install the 596 deodex zip.

ha too late. already reverted and re flashed. all is good now. thanks. the revert zip is clutch.

i'm betting i did something to the framework/system apps. this was my first go around at manually deleting bloatware vice Titanium Backup. there's lot a hate out there for TiBkp right now so i want to ween myself off of it.

I'm glad to see you up and working good. I still like TiBu. They keep updating it, which means support staying strong.

i agree. its probably the most useful tool for android. but a lot of 'higher ups' say it causes problems and i'm just looking to have something run smooth until TBH releases TranqGSpot.

You truely can use root explorer and remove what ever you want. I know some can't go like yahoo_authenticator and stuff, but hell. If something goes haywire. The revert to stock puts them all back. Don't rename, delete em. Lol. You can always put em back.

Good work! Quick question: I had tried the remove clock when I was on 595 and it actually removed the entire notification bar. Is this the same with 596? Or is it *just* the clock?

It definitely only removes the clock.

If your notification bar is being removed, then there is an issue with your install or not the same build. Example: liberty or apex vs stock build.

I have also heard of apps from the market that refered to that line of code that was removed causing issues.

Awesome! Thank you. Yeah, I thought something went wrong when the entire bar disappeared. I didn't think that it was right..
