This is an early build of Gingerbread for the Droid Charge.

Known issues:

Hotspot app does not work.
TXT message sending does not work.
TXT message receiving is spotty.
HDMI is not working
Some market apps do not show as this is an unofficial release. (will need a build prop edit).

Release notes: This is unofficial and a leak. Teamblackhat, Mydroidworld, and myself are not responsible for what you do to your phone. Installing this firmware will void your warranty and may cause harm to your device.

If you for some reason need to downgrade your firmware you will need to use the file from below to put your phone on an older firmware version. After you have put your phone on the below firmware version you will need to take several OTA updates to get back to the current firmware version.

The Clockwork Recovery was opensourced by Koush (www.github.com/koush) and modified by Imnuts for the Charge. (

How to use Samsung Flashing PST

1. Remove Sim Card
2. Set to Download Mode
a. Power Off → Hold VOL DWN while Press and Release PWR
3. Run Samsung PST and make sure the PST shows “Com port connected”
a. Select Software Tab
b. Select "PDA+PHONE" for Software Download Option and Check “Boot update” option.
c. Click on “Open AP” and select file ”
d. Select Start
e. Wait until the message window is displayed and then click ok.
f. Device reboots..
4. If the Device bootloops , do a Factory Reset on the device.

HOW TO USE ODIN:

1.Start by powering off phone, the pull out battery.

2.Open odin and load your file in PDA and ONLY THE PDA (downloads) section.

3.Plug your phone into a USB slot, then hold the volume down hard key on the side of the phone. You should see a yellow triangle with a construction droid on your phones screen, and a box on the left right above options (ID:COM) is now yellow.

4.Verify check box next to PDA is checked and the block has the file location in it. Make sure Repartition (unless you are repartitioning and have the pit file in place), Dump, Phone EFS clear, and Bootloader, Phone Bootloader Update, and Flash Lock are NOT CHECKED in the Options section. Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time can be checked or not it doesn't really matter with the battery out. These are the default settings in the options section but double check it anyway.

5.You are ready to go, click start, and let odin run, it can take anywhere from just a minute to around a half hour. If anything happens like your computer shuts off, you accidentally unplug your phone from your PC, or download failed. Don't freak, just do it again from step one, sometimes it takes multiple attempts to get it. I think at six failed attempts in a row it may be time to look into heimdall, the walk through for that is below this one.

6.Once odin finishes and does its test you will get a green box lit up that says Pass in it just above where you saw the yellow box showing you were connected. Congratulations on a successful recovery. reinstall your battery and the back cover, reboot your phone and wait for it to boot up. The boot process can take several minutes so be patient. If the boot was successful you should be looking at a stock Gingerbread on your Fascinate.

I am using Go SMS Pro and I had no issues sending TXT messages. Also, Bluetooth paired devices may not appear in Bluetooth devices in Bluetooth settings but the BT device will connect and may work. A simple reboot of phone will fix this issue. Remember folks, this is a leaked version of GB. So there will be bugs.

Benched with antutu at 2915, only about 100 points less than froyo w/lagfix @1.5ghz and almost 900 points higher than stock froyo.

No txt issues here, mms working also.

Thanks TBH!

My quadrant is right around 990 also. I normally bench with antutu because it's way more comprehensive. That's where the 2900 came from

P3Droid, thanks so much for being here for us Charge users. I've been with you through my entire DX times, and now that my girlfriend has my DX, I suppose we'll still be using your stuff on that platform.

Anyway, this ROM is running perfectly fine for me. I'm not having any of the mms or sms problems others might be. It quite an enjoyable ROM, and I'm looking forward to seeing more Charge stuff from TBH. Voodoo I hope?

Had you asked prior to releasing it, I would have said ok, but since you didn't, I want my recovery.bin file removed from all files you are distributing. You did not receive any permission from me to use it, and since you are/were profiting off the distribution, I want no part of what files you are sharing. If you do not do so, I'll contact your host(s) and have them removed. Thank you.

Actually yea... lol. Never noticed it, but I called myself 3 times and 2 out of 3 times it did not ring. That sucks.

As this build does not have voodoo, how is the performance? The original stock file system was horrible and voodoo is the only thing that fixed it.
