This is an even newer build of Gingerbread for the Droid Charge.

Known issues:

Music Streaming may cut out.

Some market apps do not show as this is an unofficial release. (will need a build prop edit).

Release notes: This is unofficial and a leak. Teamblackhat, Mydroidworld, and myself are not responsible for what you do to your phone. Installing this firmware will void your warranty and may cause harm to your device.

If you for some reason need to downgrade your firmware you will need to use the file from below to put your phone on an older firmware version. After you have put your phone on the below firmware version you will need to take several OTA updates to get back to the current firmware version.

You will need 7z to uncompress these files.

Just wanted to say, "thank you" very much. I paid for your app as a way to repay you. The idea of donating was made clear to all us at XDA. Again, Thank you.

If we need to flash back, does it *have* to be the ED2 factory file, or can it be the ED1 file?

You could get Odinmaker and do a backup of your phone first. Thats my plan.

You can use the ED2 listed above, then you will be prompted to download and install the EE4 update.

That was my guess (I've flashed from the previous GB build back to ED1) and it asked for the same update, I just wanted to make sure.

Another thing does not work is video chat in GTalk is not supported yet. Wish it did, but hoping.

Also, it looks like Sammy is using ext4 - CORRECTION: still using rfs but quadrant is scoring higher.

Hey Guys,

I'm brand new to this, so I was wondering, can I got form my 2.2.1 Charge to the 2.3.4 leak and THEN root it? Thanks in advance.

Whats the recovery situation with this leak? With the recent drama am I to conclude it has stock recovery with us having to flash CWM afterward?

Says that this is rooted in Top Hat app but for some reason it goes to the blue Samsung screen. Anything we can use to root this build?

Only issue i am having with this build so far is that when the phone is plugged into a outlet, the phone freezes and wont work with out a reboot. Anyone else having this issue?

So is CWM included in this? If so, how do we get to it? If not, how do we flash it? I'm coming from a droid X, so I am not familiar with the charge and I'm a bit lost in how to get CWM working.

It does not come with CWM, but you can get it here:

and you use odin to flash it after you flash EP1F.

Do I remove the .md5 extension before opening it in Odin? That's what I had to do for my Galaxy Tab.

So, I'm guessing that this can't be done if you have Windows 7 64-bit. I am having NO luck using Odin. I get into download mode, but Added isn't showing up and I hear some funky three tone beep letting me know the driver installation isn't successful. This is extremely frustrating!!

I have a Droid Charge and I would love to get 2.3 on it, I am no stranger to computers and such. But i get scared when it comes to rooting or putting ROM's on phones.

Would anyone be able to provide me the steps I need to take to get 2.3 on my Droid charge?

I really would be thankful!!

When when trying to use the stock Froyo (linked from original post), Odin says the MD5 hash is invalid. Anyone else having this issue, or can anyone point me to another location to download the stock file?

Downloaded it several times just to make sure that wasn't the issue.

Thanks
