do sbf at least 3 times and wipe all data and see what happens. that seems odd

if you are asking how to do that than you may want to reconsider doing this to your phone until you are more comfortable with how it works.

If it still doesn't wok after that,go to Verizon and get them to exchange it. Same thing happened to my D1 once, Verizon replaced it on the spot. It isn't caused by anything you would've done, though, just happens sometimes.

You move it to the beginning of the sd card folder. But, you don't have to move it there.

Well do you know how to move music from your pc to your phone using only standard windows drag and drop and not some media sync?

Is so then the root of the sd card is the main folder in that drive.

it verifys the current system update then tells me assert failed error in sdcard/update.zip status 7

how are you getting to recovery: stock w/power button OR CWM w/charge connector?

If this does this at the end after a bunch of lines, for whatever reason fail=success. You are good to go.

opened the bootstrap and hit the reboot into recovery

EDIT: let me reboot into android and see if it worked

I downloaded the file turned the phone off and restarted in bootstrap went to update zip and it sead nothing is there looked in files under sd.card under downloads and there it is whats up with that what am i doing roung

ok guys the new bootstrap is a little weird to everyone. now on the first x it had backup and restore just one option each but on x2 it has backup internal and backup external. the system stuff like normal x backup is internal im guessing correct? and the sdcard is the external correct? just looking for confirmation guys thanks!

once you are rooted,
There is only one way
run "system recovery"
hit "install recovery"
hit "recovery mode"
..

have orig charge conn plugged in
It will boot to CWM recovery.

Install (choose) zip from sd
