Droid X 4.5.602 Update (prerooted)

UPGRADE PATH:

The second method to upgrade to gingerbread from froyo is to sbf you phone back to stock froyo (2.3.340) and use the 2 install files from below.


The only way to get the newest radio .13p and maintain root is to upgrade from 340
None of this would be possible without the BUBBA and many others, so we all say thank you very much.

Basic Directions:

Dowload the zip
Reboot phone into Clockwork Recovery
Install the Zip file.

Patched update.zip (not signed)
You must follow the directions exactly to the letter, if you do not I can not guarantee the results. Please do not post questions here if you have not read the directions below. Before beginning ensure that you understand the directions that you have read.

Good now that you have read above the you are ready to proceed.

1. Your phone must be in the following condition before you can use the patched updater.

1.Your phone is running the 2.3.340 official Froyo Firmware
2.Your phone has been rooted
3.Your phone is using the Droid2/DroidX Bootstrap program

Install part 1 and then part 2 before leaving recovery!!

I'm coming from rooted 4.5.596. Do I just download the Part 1 and Part 2 and install it through recovery to update or do i have to SBF back to 2.3.340 all over again and install?

Make a nandroid backup, sbf back to .340, root it with

and use Droid 2 Bootstrapper to go into recovery, install the two parts, then restore data only from your backup. Then you will be on .602 with all your apps and data restored your phone still looking like it used to.

I'm getting a status 7 error. Phone is fresh on 2.3.340, hashes are verified for the file downloads. Z4 is installed, as is the bootstrapper. Multiple SBF's and attempts, and I am having the same problem each time. FWIW, I can't install the original 596 file either. Any help?

What are you using to get to 340? Has to be sbf via rsd or linux. Don't forget to wipe data/cache a few times

I used rsd to go to 340 and I am getting the status 7 error when installing part 1

I was trying to install by formating system data cache then doing mount sytem and got that error. i sbf to 340 and just installed the 2 part without the other stuff

This does not work. You will not have root once you apply unsigned zip 1 and 2. Both zips loaded fine but have no root access.

You all installed the 2 part in op and you no longer have root? But you're on 602 with 13 radio? His tbh app required a bit more work than instructions here. Something's up.
