Droid 2 Global 4.5.606 Update (prerooted)

UPGRADE PATH:

1) If you are stock (No bootstrap recovery or removed system files) you can install the original file.

2) If you are running 2.4.330 then you need to return to stock plus bootstrap recovery only.

Basic Directions:

Dowload the zips
Reboot phone into Clockwork Recovery
Install the zip files.

You must follow the directions exactly to the letter, if you do not I can not guarantee the results. Please do not post questions here if you have not read the directions below. Before beginning ensure that you understand the directions that you have read.

Good, now that you have read above you are ready to proceed.

1. Your phone must be in the following condition before you can use the patched updater.

1.Your phone is running the 2.4.330 official Froyo Firmware
2.Your phone has been rooted
3.Your phone is using the Droid2/DroidX Bootstrap program

Install part 1 and then part 2 before leaving recovery!!

p3droid .. before i try it just to try for names sake .. can you sbf from this? been on wifi running this build playing with it since tbh released it . smooth as butter!

Thanks P3! As always you make a moto release actually worth flashing.

Quick question regarding this release.... If I'm not mistaken Bootstrapper system backups made under Froyo Kernel will not work anymore after flashing this correct? Or are the GB and Froyo Kernels compatible enough that they might?

EDIT: Kicky - Yes P3 has said that you can SBF back to Froyo after installing this.

From file 1 I used mirrors 1 and 3 (2 is down for me.) and the md5 hashes don't match...

I know this is a pretty noob question, but it's been a while since I've done this for the the leaked froyo on the original droid way back when... Am I supposed to rename these to update.zip? or leave them as is? I'm a bit confused since you have to install them both without leaving recovery.

Also, the md5sum for part 1 doesn't match... Anyone else get this?

Thats because this is Droid2 Global ONLY?
If you want Dx it would be bettr to look in the DX forum for that wouldn't it?

Turns out the md5 check was probably from the DroidX that this post was copied from... everything works fine. The initial reboot took about 5 minutes, but after that everything is great.

So just to be clear, for method 1 you have to be rooted stock froyo? Or can i be done on Hexen rom that uses the froyo kernal?

One of the prerequisites for installing the two part update is Droid 2 Bootstrap Recovery
Try the following per Droid Forums "Droid 2 Global ROOT, UNROOT, CUSTOM RECOVERY & SIM UNLOCK Tutorial"

• Install z4root
  
• Root using z4root
  
• Install Droid2Bootstrap
  
• Bootstrap Recovery using Droid 2 Bootstrap
  
• Reboot Recovery using Droid 2 Bootstrap
  
• Install Part 1
  
• Install Part 2

Just installed this for my mom on her d2g & it was quick n painless lol seems to be running ok so far... Im running the rooted version & I used mirror #2 from both file 1 and 2. Much thanks to be P3droid & everyone else for all your work!!
