For those of you waiting patiently for your update from Motorola or Verizon for your Droid 3 especially after hearing that the potential final build is being put through its tests wait no more. A good friend of mine has shared this with me so I am passing it along to you. You will find in the link below the actual update from Motorola but before installing it there are some requirements.

I don't know if a temporary unroot would work, but even if it did you probably would not to be able to just reinstall, reinstate or whatever once you received the upgrade.
Unless something has changed the way you would do it is download it to your SD card. Change the name (if necessary) to update.zip. Restart your D3 while holding the X key on the physical keyboard. Then you would see a Triangle and I think an exclamation point. Press volume up and camera at the same time. You may need to hold this for a while. Then a menu comes up. Select update.zip. And you should be good to go from that point. If your phone is sluggish after restart, wait a while and see if it improves. If it doesn't then do a factory data reset. That will fix it up for you.

So, after I rooted my D3 a while back, I got a little delete happy. I ripped out some of the bloatware and didn't back it up. Does anyone happen to have the backups of the apk's for the D3? I don't yet know exactly which ones I need but I am going to try and make a list. Phone is working fine, so ripping them out didn't cause a problem, but I can't apply the update without the bloatware apparently, which I still think is shitty. But, it is what it is.
