Ok to be honest im not really sure whats going on ive been trying for about 3 days now on rooting my phone have every file form the one clicks to the sbf. files ive tried everything nothing is working for me im not sure if its my phone or if im just over looking something.

phone specs: Droid 2 R2D2
sys. version : 4.5.602.A957
android version: 2.3.3


im just lost i guess any help is better then none and me just getting more pissed off about it i guess. if you need any more info let me know i just would like to root my phone since the easy instructions arent so easy lol. and sorry if there is a thread about this already. thank you.

Well, basically the D2 R2G2 is the same as the D2, and I see you're currently running Gingerbread. By the time I got Gingerbread on my D2 I also got the offer from Verizon to upgrade my phone.

However I did look around and I'm not finding a lot of useful information about rooting a D2 after it's been upgraded to stock Gingerbread. I can't do much more right now, but I'll try to get some more information for you later if someone else doesn't respond first. Everything I saw had to do with rooting to Gingerbread before the actual Verizon update came through but I'm sure there is more info available.

OK, I don't know what you're using but I see the D2 with Gingerbread can be rooted by the same method that is used for the D3.

• Enable USB debugging on your device (Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging)
  
• Plug your phone into the computer and select "Charge Mode Only"

• Follow the onscreen instructions and unlock the phone after each boot

I did not write these instructions. I copied them from another post. This is suppose to work on any Droid running Gingerbread.

ok another problem poped up now it says i have 3g but i cant go to the market nor can i get on the web it sends me to the version moblie broadband connect or 3g mobile hotspot subscribe page
