According to a recent post on HD blog, Samsung has confirmed Android 4.0 updates for 2012 on select devices. The devices reported to be confirmed so far are : Galaxy S II, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 7.7, and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. No specific date was given for the update to roll out to these devices, and according to the blog there is no current status for other Samsung devices, but does say that Samsung "Is assessing the Android 4.0 features before giving any commitment." Hopefully we will see the list updated with all devices which are capable of running the Android 4.0 OS.

Well, it didn't say Charge wouldn't get it. Just the phones it's confirming now. Hey, nobody thought the D2 would get Gingerbread, it did.

That is Samsung way. U want os update buy a new phone, look to developer to provide it or move to Europe where we actually provide support.

Doesn't really matter to me either way. I can't recall a time since the D1 I took an OTA or waited for the Manufacturer to provide me an Update.

Yep, that's how I was until I bricked my D2. Now I'm admittingly gun shy. I would love to get the bloat off my phone, I don't care about Custom ROM's or anything like that. But the last time I rooted for an OTA update, another update for that came out and going back to stock I think that I used the wrong version of RSDLite.

So when I got my replacement phone I just ran Froyo until Gingerbread came out. That was the first time I ever took an OTA, I've always installed the latest update myself.

I would never deny P3's credibility as far as knowing exactly what is going to be released. But I would feel more comfortable installing the upgrade if the OTA was out. So daily, I'm checking for the update. And I'm OK with that really, because from what I can see this update really is not a big deal.
