"Can someone post the Task Manager?"

This was posted on another forum board regarding the missing task manager from this release. I have not used it, yet, but I downloaded it knowing that I would need it.

I would post the actual link where I downloaded it, but I don't have the 5 post minimum, yet.

Dont wanna sound like the newbie or anything but how do you root at all? I downloaded everything, unziped all the necessary files, and have my phone hooked up to my computer. But i cant find any instructions on how to root. Can someone please help me or give me a link to a page with instructions?

You're missing the actual Recovery.. (not included in this download). Grab CWM

I'm running iMoseyOn's Voodoo kernel version 4.0 on this ROM. Any advantages of converting to EXT4 vs. staying with RFS? Or is RFS improved enough to stay with RFS?

As a noob I am finally ready to install a ROM. Coming from rooting Droid X and Xoom this of course is a different procedure. I am unrooted...am I correct in using only Odin to flash the debloated root version with no need to use CWM? BTW...been studying the rooting forums for days and am a little unsure because procedures seem to vary with using CWM. Thanks in advance!

Here is the task manager apk and the widget apk for it...
Just drop them both in the system/app folder and fix the permissions and your done!

I was successful with flashing the rooted stock version. Phone is running well, definitely smoother than froyo. However I am still stuck with Touch Wiz. Is there a way to remove Touch wiz or get to stock android? I assumed that a stock build would do that but was wrong. Thanks for any ideas/suggestions.

The only way I know is to eliminate touchwiz is to flash a ROM over this like GummyCharged 2.0 or Dark Slide

Rooted the rooted, bloated version last night. Now the sd card isn't being recognized - no access to data on it. I know I did something wrong; I just have to find out what that was. Any ideas?

*UPDATE* I tried again to get the phone to 'see' what is on the sd card, but no dice. It sees that there's information on it, I just can't get it to access the data. Any suggestions?

If I want to install to stock unrooted version, are the steps below correct?

-download 7z, samsung drivers, and the OS.
-unzip OS using 7z
-start phone in debug mode
-install OS
-reload 3rd party apps

Will task manager still be available?
Will hotspot still work?
Will file manager still be available?

Sory for all the noob questions. I have update my BB in the past, but it only involved a few steps, download OS, delete. xml file and use manager to install.

Why would you want the un-rooted ROM? Having gives you so much more power to be able to do more things on your phone including remove the bloat that Verizon foists on all of us.

I am noticing a bit of a memory lag on this one "debloat. Root.deodex." compared to the debloated EP3.

Anyone else???

No, I've not experienced the issue you describe.

This is the best ROM I've run in a long time.

I noticed lag on the rooted deodexed ver. even w/imoseyons kernel so I flashed the stock rooted and now am happy.

Wonder what the difference is between the deodexed and the non-deodexed versions are. In theory there shouldn't be any difference. The only thing that deodexing does is makes theming the phone possible.

Just about 48hrs and I would say the battery is lasting about 13hrs. Great job!
