Installed 901. Went through the whole process without a hitch, except ...

no Titanium Backup. It says I need a rooted device. SuperUser opens up okay. Was root not installed?

EDIT: Yeah, tried all my other Root apps and notta. No rootsky for me on the 901. Saw the Zerg rush moving the files in the cmd window, but I guess it did not take.

P3, do you have a MD5 for the file? downloads have been ending up interrupted and the one that did complete, I want to make sure it is all there before I do anything.

So after all is finished, the Bionic can be at 5.5.893 rooted, and/or you go farther and can be at 5.9.901 rooted. Rooted forever or just rooted?

Was it a typo about which builds being used? 5.5.893 or 5.5.896 (really doesn't matter since I'm on my way to 901)

Is the 5.9.901 an "official" Moto update?

I'm on the stock (pre-rooted with forever root) 5.5.893 that was pushed a couple weeks ago, but haven't had any notification from Moto that I have the 901 update available for update/ install.

Anyone else having "lost root" issues after going to 901 with this method? Anyway to get root back?

My install was going great with no errors, after root completed successfully my phone rebooted and I was expecting recovery mode but I am stuck in a boot loop. Any ideas what caused this and what I need to do now? I was running 5.7.893 unrooted if that makes any difference. Thanks!

I ended up there from the the other method. I pulled battery, booted into stock recovery (both vol buttons) and re-applied the update. worked for me.

Yeah, I took an old usb cord, stripped it and have red and black wires connected to battery.
I checked and the battery is charging. I'll give it a couple hours and I should be back in business!

Have been using p3droid files from October (5.893) and waiting for update since. Rebloated with TBH. Pushed files successfully. When it came to manual boot, it would not allow me to install either 901 or 593 with aborts both times. When trying to reboot phone, it goes into Fastboot boot failure

Uhm, why does my TiBu say I do not have root? My Bionic is full of bloatware. Any ideas? How to root 5.5.901?

Includes updated su binary's and latest zergrush.

fyi - this method will throw cdt.bin issues if previously on 59901 and you stop at 55893.
included cdt.bin from 901 (named cdt.901). If getting a CG error on cdt.bin, run "moto-fastboot flash cdt.bin cdt.901".

boot CG errors are usaully because 886 boot file was successful. Start stock recovery and apply 55893 and 59901 updates.

other CG errors, try starting the batch over.

Used this method. All went fine all the way thru. At the end I selected the update893.zip and then the update901.zip, annd applied fine. When it came back up, the root process started, but has left me without root, but sitting with a fully functioning stock 901 phone (no root) :(

coming from rooted 5.5.893 with rooted forever tweak.

Just a quick question. How long should it take to get past the first sending 'system' <262144 KB>....

I ask because mine has been sitting there for 20 minutes. If it is not supposed to be there that long, please recommend appropriate actions.

Can you give a detailed way to run "moto-fastboot flash cdt.bin cdt.901" or is there a script that will do this?
