Major Updated 02/19/2012

This is a true 100% AOSP ROM created from ICS 4.0.3 source and packaged in zip form for ease of delivery. The ROM is rooted with fixed Superuser for all of your su needs. We have removed the Google search box and placed a new soft key at the bottom that allows you to search, if long pressed it will activate voice search/commands as well. I have to say that gatesjunior has really out done himself with all the coding of this ROM.

This ROM is clean and free of all bloat.

Please do not post this anywhere else. Please link to this post. This ROM will only be supported here.

Known issues:
  • None
Whats in it:
  • Five Point Lockscreen
  • Dark AOSP Menu program integrated into Settings
  • Busybox pre-installed (built from source)
  • Superuser (built from source)
  • Root Browser
  • Google Apps integrated
  • Market fix
  • Facelock
  • Removed Search box
  • Added search / voice search (long press) to softkey
  • 1% battery increments
  • Power widgets in dropdown (Push to toggle / Longpress for settings / Multi-press brightness and sound for modes)
  • Reboot power menu
  • Tether/Hotspot AOSP enabled
  • Market App restore working
Whats new:

--02/05/2012--
  • Added all new Darklauncher, based off of Trebuchet with code rewrites and mods for our rom. Access all features from softkey menu button off of the main workspace area or app drawer area.
  • All necessary Verizon files are included in rom now and Verizon patch no longer needed
  • New 4.0.4 leaked bootloader and all radios now part of install process of rom
  • Build.prop edits made to coincide more with the actual build.prop from full release
  • New kernel added from our very own BBCrackman
  • Ghost search bar at the top showing up occasionally also resolved
  • Also, I do not believe you will need to Wipe Data/Factory reset with this release, but if you notice issues, please do so.
--02/11/2012--
  • All google apps updated to latest releases. Excluding google maps, that will update from market
  • Browser sync issue should be resolved
  • All new softkeys, much cleaner and landscape mode cleaned up and menu button in landscape fixed
  • All new softkey customizations have been added now into the Dark AOSP Menu, check it out...
  • All new battery customizations have been added to the Dark AOSP Menu, check them out as well...
  • Car Home Google added to the rom for all you car dock lovers out there..
  • New kernel added by our very own BBCrackman now with ondemand governor mode
--02/19/2012--
  • Softkey color changer added, change softkeys to any color you want to now on the fly
  • Clock options added, change color, add am/pm, chage size, remove it, also all on the fly
  • Custom carrier text added, change carrier text to anything you want, also on the fly
  • Battery icon options modified to now include enable/disable battery icon on the statusbar
  • Softkey glow speed added, now change press background glow speed on the fly
On boot if you do not see the clock or the battery, just go into the Dark AOSP menu program and enable them :-) Oh yeah, and on the color changer dialog, the previous button is not active, work in progress.

Quick note on this, the kernel defaults to performance, so for those of you battery conscious, change it in the Dark AOSP Menu program under Performance in governor mode to ondemand and check the box to set at boot. Those that want a little more performance with giving up a little battery life, choose interactive.

You must be rooted and have Clockwork Mod to install this ROM
Wipe Data / factory reset before flashing

Installation:

Download ROM and put on sdcard
  • Boot into Clockwork recovery
  • Wipe data / factory reset
  • install zip from sdcard
  • choose zip from sdcard and flash
  • Enjoy!
IMPORTANT !! : IF YOU USE NOVA LAUNCHER, YOU NEED TO INSTALL IT PRIOR TO EVEN GOING INTO THE DARK AOSP MENU PROGRAM OR YOU WILL EXPERIENCE BOOT LOOPS !!

Man I can't wait til this is complete and released! I love all your work BBC. I was hoping that you would be doing GNex roms once it was released. Are you planning on themeing your work like you did for the X/Charge? Every rom out so far for the Nexus looks the same. I miss the themeing of DarkSlide! Please keep up the great work! You are by far one of my favorite devs.

Just wait guys, I have also integrated free wifi tethering and hotspot right off the phone natively. No extra apps necessary etc... Go into Settings, more and enable it and configure it and you are off and running.

Just a quick question guys. Does one need to install the original darkaosp via odin first? I think probably not, but for those who feel intimidated by the bootloader unlock/rooting process; perhaps so?

I only ask for the readers . . . .

Very nice work, I asked a question about removing the google search bar and replacing it with the 'soft key' search in the original darkaosp thread; then I found this one and had to delete my previous post/question as it is answered here.

TIA
